HGV Class 1 / 2 & Ambulance Training services For Kent, Essex and London

How We Started

title_shape_1How We Started

Founded in 1990

Traindrive was founded in 1990 with just a Volvo tractor unit and flatbed trailer. In those days, as is the case now, you could gain your commercial driving licence (HGV) by training and taking your driving test in a C+E vehicle.

We bought our second vehicle, a 16-tonne flatbed, a few years later in order to accommodate the increasing demand for class 2 (C) licence. This was proving increasingly more successful, and we began gaining clients from local haulage companies, attracted by our professionalism.

At this time we also upgraded the training vehicles to box rigids and box trailers to allow the trainees to gain experience in full size commercial vehicles, thus giving them total confidence in a vehicle of equivalent size to one they would be using on a daily basis, once qualified.

We are proud of the fact that Traindrive were the first training company in Southeast London to adopt this method of using full-size training vehicles before the laws was changed by the DVSA. Today, the majority of local training companies have adopted this idea.

Continued To Grow

Our customer base continued to grow due to our extremely high pass rate, which only continues to grow with each course. We have recently purchased a new tractor unit for our C+E courses, ensuring that our clients have top of the range vehicles to complete their training in.

To this day, Traindrive are still working closely with the same haulage companies who have used our driver training services in excess of 30 years because of the professional experience that they continue to receive. We believe that a highly contributing factor to this excelling service is due to the fact that our trainers have been professional drivers themselves, with an untold number of benefits to being trained by someone who knows the haulage industry from the inside. Over the years the needs and demands of today’s HGV drivers has changed and so have we, but above all we are still delivering professional drivers to haulage companies and private clients alike.

We have successively trained thousands of drivers who have come from all walks of life and have used their heavy goods licence for a vast variety of reasons. No matter their end goal, Traindrive was there for them.
